TIME WARP HEAD SMASH (2017)
48 Hour Film Challenge | Co-Director | Editor | Visual EffectsTime travel has been invented by the Inter-Timensional Overlord, Don Tiempo and his loyal gang of ‘Warpers’. The most infamous of these is the legendary Vince Power. But when Vince goes rogue, the Don isn’t going to let him get away easily.
This short was made by myself and five others within 48 hours. Made as part of the 2017 Shooting From The Hip 48 Hour Competition, in Bournemouth. The film went on to win Best Film, as chosen by a panel of industry professionals.
The theme of the competition was cult cinema. We were given the name ‘Time Warp Head Smash’ and the blue Captain America mask to use as a prop. We created this world together, wrote the script and all acted in this time-bending adventure.
I edited the film on my laptop over two long evenings, rushing to finish it in time. It was a great experience for us all to experiment with practical effects, characterisation and bringing to life a story with this kind of scope.
