FOR WHOM THE CLOCK TICKS (2019)

48 Hour Film Challenge | Co-Director | Editor | Visual Effects

The clock is ruled by Zaman, imposing his hierarchy through the Seconds and Minutes. But when the clock stops ticking, he sends his trusty Minute 19 to find the source of the problem. The further down 19 ventures, the more he uncovers about an impending revolution.

This short was made by myself and seven others within 48 hours. Made as part of the 2019 Shooting From The Hip 48 Hour Competition, in Bournemouth. The film went on to win Best Film, as chosen by a panel of industry professionals.

The theme of the competition was The End. Each film had to take place 5 minutes before or after ‘the end’ of something. We were also given the sound of cards shuffling to use in the film. We brainstormed the script together, crafted cogs out of cardboard and all acted in this tale of time and class division.

I edited the film on my laptop over two evenings, rushing to complete it in time. It was a great experience for us all to experiment with lighting, locations and fleshing out a story with this kind of scope.

- Winner of Best Film at Shooting From The Hip 2019
